AN OUTLINE

The Department of Economics is one of the richest departments under the Faculty of Social Sciences of Jagannath University which had been a Govt. College till 2005. Department started its journey in 1972 in the realm of knowledge with blessings from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman and professor Yousuf Ali, the Hon’ble Minister for education, the government of the new born nation. Along with genesis an outline of the physical stature of the department may to some extent quench the curiosity of those who are concerned.
